Trauma Clinic
|
Many individuals who come for therapy have undergone overwhelming life experiences and adversity, at least two thirds of individuals will have at least one adverse experience in their life. These adverse life events can affect our psychological, physical and social health.
Trauma affects more than the mind. At The Wellnest Collective we are committed to providing effective treatment that integrates the body, emotions, thinking and meaning making into the healing process. Through the body we can directly access the parts of the brain involved in the trauma (reptilian brain, stress centres and limbic brain) and the corresponding chemical and muscular responses in the rest of the body helping the whole person recovery process. At The Wellnest Collective we offer a range of body therapies to assist in the reduction of trauma symptoms. We offer specialised confidential treatment and operate the business in-line with The Blue Knot Foundation principles of trauma-informed practice. These core principles are safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration and empowerment, which form the foundation for all interaction with survivors of trauma. |
